Methuen Seeks Poll Workers for September and November 2026 Elections

Mayor D.J. Beauregard's administration heads into the summer with several standing announcements still in circulation — from a recruitment drive for election workers to a proposed FY27 budget designed to hold the line without a Proposition 2½ override.

TOWN HALL

The city's Election Department is actively recruiting poll workers for the September 1 and November 3, 2026 elections. Residents interested in supporting the voting process are encouraged to call 978-983-8515 to sign up.

On the budget front, Mayor Beauregard's proposed FY27 spending plan continues to move through the process. The budget is built around operational reforms and spending controls aimed at addressing Methuen's fiscal challenges without asking residents to approve a Prop 2½ override, while keeping public safety services intact.

Also still active: the city's reminder to residents to return outstanding census forms by mail, in person at the Clerk's Office, or by email as a photo copy.

The Oakland Avenue Bridge repair project continues to keep a section of the rail trail closed to the public. The closure, which began May 26, will remain in effect until bridge work is complete.

COMING UP
