Lynn Public Library Opens Summer Hours Monday, Kicks Off 'Plant a Seed, Read' Program

The Lynn Public Library moves to its modified summer schedule beginning Monday, June 15, giving residents new hours to plan around just as the district's summer reading program gets underway.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Starting June 15, the library at 5 North Common St. will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The building will be closed Saturdays and Sundays for the summer stretch. Two additional closure dates are already on the calendar: Friday, June 19 (Juneteenth) and Thursday, July 3.

The schedule shift coincides with the launch of the library's 2026 summer reading program, "Plant a Seed, Read," which runs tracks for children, teens, and adults. Sign-up links for all three age groups are now live on the library's website at lynnpubliclibrary.org. Adult cardholders 18 and older can also pair their summer reading with the library's newer Kanopy streaming service, which provides 25 monthly tickets for movies, documentaries, and shows at no charge.
