Lynn Launches Summer Reading Program as Rabies Clinic Set for Friday
Lynn is easing into summer this week with the public library's "Plant a Seed, Read" program underway for all ages, a free rabies clinic on the books for Friday, and the library operating on modified summer hours through early July.
TOWN HALL
A free rabies clinic is scheduled for Friday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents should check the city's community calendar at lynnma.gov for location details. The clinic is the most time-sensitive item on the city's near-term calendar.
The city's community calendar also lists the Youth Summer Employment Program and ongoing street sweeping and roadway construction projects as active initiatives residents should be aware of heading into the holiday weekend.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Lynn Public Library's summer reading program, "Plant a Seed, Read," is now open for enrollment across all three tiers — children, teens, and adults. Separate tracks and sign-up links are available on the library's website at lynnpubliclibrary.org.
The library is operating on modified summer hours through July 2: Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is closed Saturdays and Sundays, and will also be closed Friday, July 3. Patrons planning a holiday-week visit should plan accordingly.
Looking ahead on the library calendar, Messy Mornings with the LPL — a children's program — begins Tuesday, July 1, from 10 to 11 a.m., and the Teen Tech Space opens Wednesday, July 2, from 3 to 5 p.m. Both programs repeat weekly through August.
