Saugus Library Launches Summer Reading Series With Free Iron Works Concerts
DATELINE — SAUGUS
With no major town-hall announcements breaking in the past 48 hours, community programming takes center stage this week: the Saugus Public Library is running its summer reading push for all ages while free outdoor concerts return to the Iron Works this season.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Saugus Public Library has launched its 2026 summer reading programs across age groups. Children are invited into the Pokémon-themed "Gotta Read 'Em All!" challenge, while teens and adults each have their own parallel tracks running through the summer. For younger children, a CFCE Storytime session for ages zero through six is scheduled for tomorrow, June 26, at 9:30 a.m. — registration is required.
Looking ahead to next week, the library is offering free Summer Reading Enrichment Programs on Monday, June 29, with a session for grades one and two at 9:30 a.m. followed by one for grades three through five at 10:30 a.m. Residents should note the library will be closed this Saturday, June 27.
The library also announced this week that free outdoor concerts are returning to the historic Saugus Iron Works this summer. The series picks up a tradition from prior years, offering residents no-cost live music at one of the town's signature cultural landmarks. Specific dates were not listed in the announcement, but the library's website has details.
On the governance side, the Board of Library Trustees adopted a new Lost & Found Policy on June 11, formalizing procedures for items left behind at the library.
Teen residents interested in shaping library programming are encouraged to apply for the Teen Advisory Board; the group meets July 27 and wants members with opinions about books and teen programs.
