Lynnfield Schools Address Racist Slur Discovery as Paving Begins on Two Roads
Lynnfield school officials are working to respond to the discovery of a racist slur on district property, according to a Lynnfield Patch report published Friday morning — the most significant local story of the cycle — as town contractor D&R General Contracting, Inc. simultaneously launched paving operations on two neighborhood streets at 7 a.m.
TOWN HALL
Drivers and residents near Edgemere Road and Wildewood Drive should plan for disruptions Friday: the town's road contractor, D&R General Contracting, Inc., began asphalt paving on both streets this morning as part of the ongoing roadway improvement program. Work was scheduled to get underway at 7 a.m. The paving follows milling operations that started earlier this month on other town roads.
Separately, the town has posted a notice of a vacancy on the Lynnfield Public Library Board of Trustees. Residents interested in serving should check the town's news and notices page at town.lynnfield.ma.us for details.
SCHOOLS
Lynnfield Public Schools families have a firm date to note: the last day of school for the 2025–26 academic year is Monday, June 22, which will be an early release day.
