Lynn Public Library Adopts Summer Hours Starting June 15, Weekend Access Suspended
The Lynn Public Library's new summer schedule kicks in this Sunday, June 15, trimming weekend access while extending weekday evening hours — a change residents will want to note heading into the warm-weather months.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
Starting June 15, the library at 5 North Common St. will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours are suspended for the summer. Two additional closures are already on the calendar: Friday, June 19 (Juneteenth), and Thursday, July 3. Patrons with questions can call 781-595-0567.
The schedule shift comes as the library's 2026 Summer Reading Program, "Plant a Seed, Read," is up and running. Separate reading tracks are available for children, teens, and adults, and sign-up links are live on the library's website. The program is designed to keep readers of all ages engaged through the summer break.
Also this week: the Lynn Classical High School Theatre Company brings "The Little Mermaid" to the stage tomorrow, June 13, with a 6 p.m. curtain. The one-hour production is listed on the city's community calendar.
