Tennis program receives donation boost as baseball and softball field upgrades near completion in Manchester By The Sea.
MANCHESTER BY THE SEA -- The Manchester By The Sea Select Board accepted a slate of donations at its June 15 meeting, including two gifts directly benefiting town recreation programs.

The Select Board voted to accept a combined $1,350 donation from Julie Hammond of Winchester Cooperative Bank and Diane Eliopoulos of Winchester Savings Bank to the Recreation Department, designated for the Packer Ellis tennis course donation and gift account.
The board also accepted an EEC Stabilization Grant of $13,720 for the Recreation Department's Kid Connection/RAP child care license program for June 2026, and a $2,050 donation from the Enka Society Inc. toward Concerts on the Common and light and sound technology for the Battle of the Bands.
Town Manager Chris Senior noted that the first phase of a baseball and softball backstop and fencing improvement project is wrapping up around town, with McDonald Field identified as the final site, with work expected that week.
