Salem Skipper Ride-Share Extended Through September 30 With New Funding
The Salem Skipper, the city's on-demand ride-share service, will keep running through September 30 — nearly two months longer than the early-August cutoff residents had been told to expect — after the city secured one-time funding and made service adjustments to bridge the gap.

The city announced Tuesday that a combination of newly acquired one-time funding and operational changes will allow the Salem Skipper to continue through September 30, 2026. The service had previously been slated to end in early August. No further details on the funding source were provided in the announcement.
