National Grid Plans Gas Main Work on Central Street and Lincoln Avenue
National Grid has announced planned gas main work on portions of Central Street and Lincoln Avenue, the most concrete piece of town business to cross the wire in the past 24 hours.
TOWN HALL
National Grid is scheduled to conduct gas main work along sections of Central Street and Lincoln Avenue, according to a town News Flash posted June 26. Residents and drivers on those corridors should expect disruptions; the town's alert links to the full project details at saugus-ma.gov. No start date was specified in the notice, but residents on those streets are encouraged to check the town's Notify Me system for updates as the work is scheduled.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Saugus Public Library's summer programming calendar is filling up, with two free enrichment programs for elementary-age students set for June 29 — one targeting grades one and two at 9:30 a.m. and a second for grades three through five at 10:30 a.m. The library's popular Summer Concerts at the Iron Works series continues July 1 at 6 p.m. with a performance by folk duo Atwater and Donnelly at the historic Saugus Iron Works. A Storytime with Gemma is also on the books for July 1 at 10:30 a.m. On the programming side, the library is also accepting applications for a Teen Advisory Board, which will give young patrons a voice in teen programming and collection decisions; the group meets July 27.
