Lynnfield Library Launches Summer Reading Program Sunday With All-Ages Kickoff
The Lynnfield Public Library is gearing up for its summer reading kickoff this Sunday, while the school district has confirmed the first day of classes for fall 2026 and the town's homepage remains quiet on new municipal announcements this cycle.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Lynnfield Public Library's Summer Reading 2026 program — themed "Plant a Seed, Read" — gets its official launch this Sunday, June 29, with a kickoff party running from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The all-ages event is open to children, teens, and adults. Residents can track their reading and earn badges through the library's Beanstack platform.
Also on Sunday evening, the library is hosting a free virtual program at 7 p.m. titled "Celebrating America's 250th: Common Soldier, Uncommon Hero," featuring historian Bruce E. Mowday. The event is open to all ages and requires no in-person attendance.
Separately, the library's roof repair project is ongoing this June; patrons should expect some access or noise disruptions during construction hours.
A Library Board of Trustees vacancy remains open, per the town homepage. The board's next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30.
SCHOOLS
Lynnfield Public Schools has posted the key date residents need for fall planning: the first day of school for grades one through 12 is Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Kindergarten registration for the 2026–27 school year is already open. The district has also published its full SY26–27 calendar and FY27 budget materials online at lynnfield.k12.ma.us.
